Abstract Submission Guidelines
Although the NEWroscience 2023 program has a great deal of themes in the Epilepsies, Complex Systems and Comorbidities, the Abstracts submission is open to other themes related to Neuroscience.
Participants will be allowed as co-authors in several posters, but only one as the first author in either Neuroscience or Epilepsy categories. Neuroscience and Epilepsy Abstracts will be evaluated by a Scientific Committee and Neuroscience & Visual Arts Abstracts will be evaluated by a Neuroscience & Visual Arts Committee. Both Committees have total autonomy for their decisions.
The “International Symposium NEWroscience 2023 – From Semiology, to Neuroplasticity of Vulnerable/Resilient Networks, to Personalized Therapies” is accepting three forms of Abstracts to be presented as posters:
Neuroscience Abstracts must be written in English, with 500 words maximum, divided in sections: “Rationale”, “Methods”, “Results” and “Discussion/Conclusions”. Authors, Affiliations, Financial Support, Conflicts of Interest Disclosure and Acknowledgements must not be taken into account in the 500 words limit. Citations should be avoided unless absolutely necessary. If this is the case, they must be placed as: First Author or Authors et al., Journal, Volume, Initial Page and Year. No Figures, Tables or Schemes are accepted in the Abstract. Accepted Abstracts will be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.
Epilepsy Abstracts must be written in English, with 500 words maximum, divided in sections: “Rationale”, “Methods”, “Results” and “Discussion/Conclusions”. For the Neuroscience & Visual Arts Abstracts authors must send TIFF or JPEG images with 20 cm x 20 cm maximum and resolution minimum of 300 dpi. This Abstract must contain only images. Text such as Title and Descriptions (including technical information concerning the acquisition/creation of the image) must be written in English and will be considered as poster legend, with 100 words maximum. It will be accepted only original material.
Observation 1: Only the Neuroscience & Visual Art Abstracts, accepted for presentation as posters and that win the two Awards (see details below) will be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.
Observation 2: A maximum of 150 Abstracts will be accepted to be published in a Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior.
It is with great pleasure and satisfaction that we open the call for submission of Scientific Neuroscience, Epilepsy, and Neuroscience & Visual Arts Abstracts, which will be evaluated by two referees each, and that will be presented as Posters at our International Symposium NEWroscience 2023.
After evaluation, usually most of the Abstracts are sent back to the authors for format adaptation, language corrections or improvement of their contents. We could accept the Abstracts for presentation as Posters at the NEWroscience 2023 and after additional strict editorial regulations, coupled to the high standards of Epilepsy & Behavior, all the Abstracts which pass through additional editorial monitoring can be accepted for publication, with the approval of the Guest-Editors of this Special Issue of Epilepsy & Behavior and the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal.
As in previous versions of our event, at the International Symposium NEWroscience 2023, the Evaluation Committees will choose:
1a. Scientific Committee: Best Poster in Neuroscience: Roselin Franklin, the mother of DNA, Award.
